Well it will probably surprise no one that 2023 has been another wild year in the world of marketing. From major social media shakeups to a healthy dose of artificial intelligence panic, it’s certainly been an interesting one.

However, here at Marketicity we just wanted to reach out and wish you a wonderful holiday season. We know the world of marketing is often fast-paced and relentless, so we hope you are able to find some time to unplug and get some peace and rest before the start of the new year.

We also wanted to take the opportunity to tell our clients and partners how grateful we are for the privilege of working alongside you this past year. It’s heartening to see the breadth of services, of creativity, and genuine care that our clients have for the work they do day in and day out and we are truly thankful to get to be a part of that.

We look forward to seeing what exciting projects might come our way next year and we can’t wait to continue working with so many wonderful people. When you get that next great idea, or someone else’s next great idea impacts your company or business, we will be here for you. Customer Service

It’s probably no surprise to say that the term “customer service” is a bit of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it brings to mind images of being helpful and successfully meeting clients’ needs. On the other hand is pretty much everything else: waiting on hold, overloaded call centers, complaints on Facebook, and so on. Where you’re positioned on the business/client spectrum may directly affect how you view the idea of customer service.

At Marketicity, we are in the unique position of knowing that all of our clients have clients. So we want to make sure that all of the companies and businesses we work with have the best possible customer service experience when working with us.

In our April blog we talked about ensuring that whatever time a client has allotted towards marketing efforts when working with Marketicity is as positive and productive of an experience as it can be. (Read more about that here in our blog “The 95-5 Rule”.) In a similar way, we tailor our customer service to each customer individually. We know that some of our clients want us to bring ideas to the table. Others are less interested in ideas and more interested in solutions. Some want to see our thought process throughout the brainstorming process and others are only interested in seeing where we’ve landed. The point being, our approach to customer service is “what is going to make our client’s life easier?”

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach to every pitch and conversation, we work to meet our clients where they are at, give them what they need, and let go of anything they don’t. It’s not the most earth-shattering idea, but it requires taking the time to get to know your clients and understanding what it means to be in partnership with them. We are fortunate to have client relationships that span 10+ years… almost unheard of for advertising and marketing agencies.

Think about those relationships you have with business, brands, and companies you use, if you do not feel valued or are not getting the service you expect, you move on. Well, if your business isn’t getting the service you expect from your marketing firm, then perhaps we should talk. Marketicity 95-5 rule marketing strategy

The 95-5 Rule

Here at Marketicity we strive to provide the best possible support, ideation, strategy, creative and partnership to each and every one of our clients. Why, it is based on a long-standing approach to marketing at Marketicity and how we support our clients. We like to call it our 95-5 Rule.

That is all driven by a very simple rule. For many of our clients, 95% of their focus is on the day-to-day issues every company deals with. Their business day is filled spent dealing with research, development, customer service, sales and sales evaluation, R&D, operations, A/P, employee issues, new business development, customer retention, etc.. Whether that 95% is extremely enjoyable, extremely difficult or a mix of both for our clients, our approach is to make that other 5% – the marketing & advertising part that we work with them on, as fun, enjoyable, engaging, and worry free as it can possibly be.

We see marketing as an opportunity to reach out and engage, to have fun, to tell a story, to connect with our clients.. but more importantly, their customers. When we work with a client on their marketing strategy, our goal is not only to provide them with something useful and profitable at the end of the day, but to provide a bit of a spark, perhaps even a reminder of why they should get through the 95% so that they can get to the 5% that they love! So many of our clients are doing incredible, meaningful work, and getting to be a part of their marketing efforts is often an opportunity to remind them of just how important and impactful that work is.

At the end of the day, we want our clients to look forward to every call, email, zoom, meeting and creative presentation that they have with any member of our team or our team as a whole!

We (the collective ‘we’ of clients and our team) all got into our businesses as a way to service a need but to have a meaningful and fun time while doing so.

So, ask yourself. If your company uses an outside marketing firm to help generate and execute your strategy and marketing efforts, do you look forward to meeting with them? If not, maybe its time you see how we can apply our 95% – 5% rule to your company’s needs.
